Accra Sports Stadium closed down for Premier league matches
The National Sports Authority (NSA), has closed down the nation’s Wembley for all Premier league matches, asuch clubs using the venue will vacate.
The Authorities in charge of all Stadiums in the West African Country, Ghana has given out the Stadium for Christmas moments including concerts. The Accra Sports Stadium has been rented out and will see musicians hold concert during this festive season, asuch will not be available for football.
Three teams has been affected with this development, thus Accra Hearts of Oak SC, Accra Lions and Great Olympics.
With the league resumption, fixed for Monday, December 19 2020 the aforementioned clubs in the Capital have been asked to move their league matches to a new venue because the nation’s Wembley will not be available for football.
The Accra Sports Stadium will only be available for football in the second week of January, 2023.
Hence, Hearts of Oak SC decision to move all home games to the Cape Coast stadium whiles Accra Great Olympics and Accra Lions visit the Sogakope Red Bull Arena.
The Premier League due to the 2022 FIFA World went on break but will bounce back on December 19th, 2022.
