Angola departs Ghana to Luanda after defeat to Black Stars

The Black Antelopes on Friday evening left the shores of Ghana after suffering a 1-0 defeat to four-time Africa Cup of Nations winner’s Ghana.

Angola faced Ghana on Thursday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, losing by a lone goal courtesy Antoine Semenyo’s late screamer.

The Group E match day 3 fixture saw Ghana extend their points to seven with Angola left with four ahead of reverse fixture in Luanda.

On Friday, Angola flee back to their country after losing 1-0 to begin preparation for the return leg as they host Ghana this weekend.

Encounter is scheduled for March 27, 2023 in Luanda.



A win for Angola will mean, they joint top with Ghana whiles a draw or victory for the Black Stars will have them inch closer to qualification for next TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast.
