2022 CHAN: Goalkeeper Stephen Kwaku earns late call up to Black Galaxies camp ahead of tournament
Great Olympics goalkeeper Stephen Kwaku has been handed a late call-up by Black Galaxies coach Annor Walker ahead of the 2022 CHAN tournament in Algeria.
Stephen Kwaku replaces Bechem United’s Abdulai Iddrisu who has joined Azam FC in Tanzania.
The Bechem United goalkeeper left Black Galaxies camp this week to complete his move to the Tanzanian giants, making him unavailable for the CHAN tournament in Algeria.
The home-based national team, who are competing in the tournament for the first time since 2014, are expected to face a challenging test in their quest to win the title.
Ghana will open their campaign on 15 January against Madagascar before taking on Sudan four days later.
Their final Group C match will be against tournament-favourites Morocco on 23 January 23.
All three matches will be played in the city of Constantine.
The tournament is scheduled to kick off on January 13, 2023.
